Updating sharp firmware
Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver.
This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver.
Updating the firmware on a Sharp BD-HP20U Blu-ray player using a USB stick and a Mac was not entirely straightforward for me.
The process is a bit brittle, so I’m documenting it in the hopes that I (and others) won’t waste so much time dealing with it next time around.
Not all cameras are affected – you can see the full recall info at this page.
There’s a link to check the serial number of your camera to see if you are in the recall.
